How I did Blonde to Black Peekaboo Hair Transformation

  • First, I section the hair

I created a horseshoe section around the crown, separating the top layer from the underneath. The top section was clipped securely out of the way, as this would remain lighter and cover the black when the hair is worn down. Some places I leave some strand to do little accent on cooper under black.

Taking time to create clean, even sections is important because it determines how much of the peekaboo color will be visible.

  • Next, I needed to protect the Blonde Hair who will be coopery

Since only the underneath section was being colored black strands, I made sure the blonde top section stayed completely isolated.

Using clips and foil helps prevent the black color from transferring onto the blonde pieces which I need after tone cooper.

Applying colour

  • I start with prepare two different colour and foil peace's

Before applying the colour, I prepared two different hair colours in separate colour bowls according to the manufacturer's instructions. Having both colours mixed and ready before starting helps the application process go smoothly and ensures even processing.

Next, I pre-cut several foil pieces to the appropriate size. Preparing the foils in advance saves time and makes it easier to work efficiently while sectioning and colouring the hair.

With the colours mixed, foils ready, and the hair sectioned, everything was set for a clean and organized colour application.

Pro Tip: Always prepare all your tools and materials before you begin applying colour. It helps maintain an even application and prevents the colour from processing unevenly while you're still getting organized.

  • Applying hair colour
  • Once the hair was sectioned and the colours were prepared, I began applying the colour.

I started at the top section, applying the black hair colour first. To create dimension, I alternated with fine strands of copper between the black sections. Each coloured section was wrapped in foil to keep the colours separate and prevent bleeding.

  • Next, back side
I moved to the back of the head. I applied a few strands of black for added depth, then coloured the remaining hair with the copper shade. This placement creates a beautiful contrast, allowing the black peekaboo pieces to stand out while the copper adds warmth and brightness throughout the rest of the hair.

Working methodically and keeping the sections clean ensured an even colour application and a seamless blend between the black and copper tones.

  • Pro Tip:

Apply the darkest colour (black) first and use clean foils for each section to avoid transferring colour onto the lighter copper pieces. This helps achieve crisp, defined contrast in the finished look.

  • Rise, wash and condition
I rise colour out with little cooler water, after I wash two time with colour protect shampoo, first I wash out black to prevent bleeding, second wash, I wash all hairs, than put colour protect mask-conditioner. I leave it for 3 min and then rise.
  • Next step, Blow-dry and style,
I use some products
I sprayed Wella Deluxe Heat Protection Spray 7-in-1 Style & Nourish evenly through towel-dried hair. These products help protect from heat damage while providing smoothness, frizz control, and lightweight hold for styling. I applied a few drops of Wella Deluxe Rich Oil through ends. Reduces frizz and leaves the hair feeling soft without weighing it down.

Finally, I blow-dried the hair smooth and finished the style to reveal the beautiful contrast between the black peekaboo and copper tones. The result is a sleek, glossy finish that showcases the colour placement and adds movement and dimension to the hairstyle.
  • Pro Tip:
Always use a heat protectant before blow-drying or using hot tools. Finish with a lightweight hair oil to add extra shine and keep freshly coloured hair looking healthy and polished. Always use a heat protectant before blow-drying or using hot tools. • Finish the Style

To complete the look, I finished the hairstyle with Osmo Blinding Shine Illuminating Finisher.

I lightly misted the shine spray over the finished style to enhance the glossy black and copper tones. This finishing spray adds an instant, mirror-like shine while helping to smooth flyaways and give the hair a polished, salon-quality finish without leaving it feeling greasy.

The result is a sleek, vibrant hair transformation with beautiful contrast, rich colour, and a healthy-looking shine that really makes the black peekaboo, and copper highlights stand out.

  • Pro Tip:

Hold the shine spray about 20–30 cm (8–12 inches) away from the hair and apply a light, even mist. A little goes a long way, giving maximum shine without weighing the hair down. ✨
