Now I explain about structure of the hair and skin
Our hair protects the scalp and head from the elements and help us to retain body heat.
The structure of the skin
The skin structure consists of three distinct layers:
- The epidermis layers
- The dermis layers
- The subcutaneous layer
The epidermis is the skin's shield. The dermis - true skin, which consists of a fibrous tissue is 1 to 2 mm thick, forms the framework of the skin. The subcutaneous is fatty layer witch firmly attaches the skin to the scalp, it's insulated to prevent the loss of body heat.
The structure of the hair
The structure of the hair consists of three layers:
- The cuticle
- The cortex
- The medulla
The cuticle is the protective surface of the hair. The cortex of the hair has an absorbent sponge. The medulla is like a straw running centrally through the hair.
